I have to admit that the reason my dropshipping business was delayed was quite simple: I wasn’t prioritizing tasks of higher importance and cognitive load first. Instead, I focused on learning languages, playing the piano, and studying HTML5 & CSS3, dedicating at least an hour daily to each, even on workdays. However, this approach left me with little energy for my business. I failed to implement a priority system, often starting with easier tasks and leaving the more demanding business tasks until the end of the day, which led to neglecting them when my energy was depleted.
This all changed when I decided to restructure my schedule based on the cognitive load and complexity of each task. I now tackle my online business first, as it is the most challenging and unknown territory, unlike learning a language where I have a structured system in place.
Old Schedule:
- Reading 5 pages of Chinese Harry Potter
- Playing piano for one hour
- Training (if scheduled)
- Learning HTML & CSS for one hour
- Learning Arabic for one hour
- Reading 10 pages of a book (often skipped)
- Working on my business (rarely reached)
New Schedule:
- Sleep early at 7-8 pm, or as soon as possible if I can’t sleep at that time.
- Three hours of focused work on my online business
- 1 hour of learning Arabic
- 1 hour of learning HTML & CSS
- Reading 20 pages of a book
- Reading 5 pages of Chinese Harry Potter
- Playing piano for one hour
- Intense body training (every few days)
Now, with this new system in place, my business is finally moving forward. My passion for learning the skills mentioned above drives me to maximize every minute of my day, even if it means going to bed early and focusing solely on my tasks. This requires tremendous effort and self-management, but it’s essential for the success of my life project, and I am absolutely 100% committed to my goals.
